Nevada's online gambling rules are stricter than many visitors expect. Here's what's actually legal in the state:
Online casinos: Not legal. Unlike New Jersey or Pennsylvania, Nevada has not legalised online casino games (slots, blackjack, roulette online), in order to protect its land-based resort economy.
Online poker: Legal, but it is the only casino game permitted online. The operator must be licensed and you must be physically located in Nevada (or a state with a poker compact with Nevada).
Mobile sports betting: Legal, but each mobile sportsbook must be tied to a licensed land-based casino, and you must register in person at that casino before you can bet from your phone.
Age: You must be 21 or older to gamble in Nevada. 18–20 year-olds cannot gamble.
This is general information, not legal advice, and rules can change. For the official position, see the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
